Comparisons of the GMC Canyon AT4 2021 vs GMC Canyon All Terrain

The 2021 GMC Canyon AT4 is here, it directly replaces the outgoing GMC Canyon All Terrain. The two trim levels equip the truck with a variety of off-road oriented equipment, but what makes the new AT4 different from the previous off-road model? Overall, the GMC Canyon AT4 is a carry-over in terms of functionality compared to the All Terrain. Both offer the same mechanical specifications, as well as important out-of-the-box components, such as an Eaton G80 auto-locking rear differential, all-terrain suspension, and transfer case skid plate.

That said, the AT4 differs from the All Terrain thanks to a number of aesthetic differences, the most obvious of which is a new grille larger than that of the 2015-2020 pre-lift models.

The new GMC Canyon AT4 also sports a dark chrome trim, as opposed to the all-terrain chrome trim, plus red recovery hooks, as opposed to the black all-terrain recovery hooks. Inside, the AT4 features unique Kalahari stitching in the cabin, as well as the AT4 logo embroidered on the headrests.

The GMC Canyon AT4 is the latest addition to the automaker's growing AT4 range. In the future, the automaker will expand its AT4 range to include off-road oriented variants for its entire range by model year 2021, with the exception of the GMC Savana pickup, as we have seen previously.
